TECHNOLOGY & NATURE
TECHNOLOGY AND NATURE THOUGH THE EXHIBITION OF AKI INOMATA: WHY NOT HAND OVER A SHELTER TO HERMIT CRABS?
Aki Inomata is a Japanese artist from Tokyo who creates artwork in collaboration with living beings. Through these beings, she explores the topic regarding identity and frontiers. This project, which first begun in 2009, entitled “ Why not hand over a Shelter to Hermit Crabs?is the first time she has displayed an exhibit in France. Her works are focused on how the act of “making” is exclusive to mankind, that’s why she developed this process of collaboration with living beings in artworks.
How does our contemporary world redefine the frontiers between technology and nature?
Based on the exhibition, we can see that nowadays, technology plays an essential role and has a remarkable impact on human life. To understand clearly some effects of technology on our life, we explored this idea during the programme. We interviewed Cédric Huchet and gathered vox pop interviews about technology, humanity, and nature as each of them related closely to the exhibit.
