The festival “Tambours et Tropiques” closed up the season at Pannonica this year, taking place from 31st May to the 2nd June. The festival shone a spotlight on African and Caribbean music, cultures and jazz, bringing together a wide array of artists to celebrate the diversity of music and jazz coming from  the likes of Brazil, Nigeria, Trinidad, and many more parts of the African-Caribbean world. Anthony Joseph and band brought “Caribbean Roots”, the title of his sixth album, to the stage at Pannonica on the Friday night of the festival. Ellen spoke to Anthony before the concert. He spoke to us about his Caribbean identity and the dream-like experience of returning to Trinidad to record his upcoming album.
