Culture Shock – Greece
Écrit par english sur 28 octobre 2019
Culture Shock is a new series that we have launched on Euradio. Each week we take one European country and put it under the spotlight, looking at its musical and cultural outputs. Each day there are two instalments of the show; one looking at music, and the other at culture. For our second week of Culture Shock, we chose Greece, a country whose food is as rich as its landscapes are beautiful!
For this week’s first episode, Bella examines Greece’s rich past, peppered with war, empires, mythology, and marvellous artistic creation.
Katherine also investigated a bit of Greek history, this time looking at how music in Greece has evolved over the years.
This one might tickle your tastebuds! On Tuesday, Bella dove into all things Greek food.
Here, Katherine tells us a bit about how traditional folk music continues to influence modern Greek pop music today.
Γεια πώς είσαι? In today’s episode, Bella teaches us how to speak Greek.
Rap music was born in the USA, but did you know there’s a massive hip hop scene in Greece too?
Have you ever seen the evil eye talisman used by Greeks to ward off evil spirits? Learn all about it and more with Bella.
Discover how Greece’s rock music scene has been thriving since the crisis in 2009.
Join Bella to learn all about Greece’s history in art and those famous Greek sculptures.

Don’t forget to tune into Euradio again next week for another edition of Culture Shock. This time we’ll be taking a trip to Italy!
