Niels Drost is Junior Researcher at the Clingendael Institute in the Netherlands and his research revolves around contemporary politics and security issues in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
His background in the history of international relations as well as his experience at the Federal University in Yekaterinburg led him to focus on the historical analysis of Russia's foreing policy and that is why we invited him to join us today.
We are indeed interested in shedding light on the current developments of the Ukrainian war, putting them into a historical perspective.
