L'artiste Londonienne Yu Chen Wang exposée au Lieu Unique à Nantes

The Eye of the Storm is the new exhibition that proposes the Lieu Uniques, based on the Island of Nantes. It aims to explore through contemporary art the daily concerns of Taiwaneses in reaction to the political tension. Although people live peacefully, the awareness of these tensions, the feeling of instability and the mental preparation for danger are reflected everyday.

The exhibition is entitled the Eye of the storm, because Taiwan is an earthquake zone, a zone where there are storms, a zone of major geopolitical tensions. But at the same time, Taiwan is liberal, democratic, it’s this zone of calm and peace, in the middle of the chaos.

The exhibition features seven  contemporary Taiwanese artists: Gong-Ming Yuèn, Livène Chang, Hai-Hsin Huang, Chey-shoung YAO,Lin-chang Wang, Hui-Yu SOU, and You Chen WANG.

Yu-Chen WANG, who now lives in London, is presenting her work to us; and tells us about her relationship with Taiwan, with being an immigrant in the UK, and with Art as a catalyst.
