Are the Europeans safe if Trump becomes the next president of the United States ?

European security is deeply linked with the American protection of the Old Continent, but this protection is not as stable as it looks. In the last 80 years the American guarantees of security both decreased and increased. Multiple times, the Americans took a step back on the promise of protecting Europe, according to professor Nicolas Badalassi.

Badalassi is the author of the book “ Histoire de la sécurité européenne depuis 1945 ” and he holds a PhD from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 – on the role of France in the cold war from 1965-1975. Today he is professor of contemporary history at Sciences Po’ Aix.

Not afraid of calling the possible election of Trump in November 2024 an emergency, professor Nicolas Badalassi takes us through the history of European security since 1945 till today.
