From 22 October to 30 November 2025, Strasbourg hosts the 13th edition of the World Forum for Democracy, organised by the Council of Europe and the City of Strasbourg. Conferences, workshops and exhibitions provide an opportunity for decision-makers, civil society actors and public figures to talk about democratic challenges and promote innovative solutions.

The European Capital of Democracy is one of the initiatives presented. Stefan Sindelar, director of the association, explains how this project rewards an exemplary European city in terms of citizen participation each year. After Barcelona (Spain), Vienna (Austria) and Cascais (Portugal), applications remain open until 25 November to select the winning city for 2027!
