Depuis septembre dernier, euradio propose, les huit de chaque mois, une journée consacrée aux voix féminines, baptisée «Le 8 des femmes». Totalement inclusive et toujours à l’image de l’un de nos mots d’ordre : la diversité.

Pour la Journée internationale des femmes, nous avons demandé à 20 artistes européennes que nous aimons, de choisir 5 titres créés par des femmes et qui leur tiennent à cœur ❤️ Nous rediffusons ce programme exceptionnel les 8 juillet et 8 août. Au total, 100 titres : tubes et découvertes, tout y est !

1- Albertine Sarges
La Berlinoise a prêté son talent à de très nombreux groupes (Itaca, Holly Herndon …). Son premier album sous son nom, parcouru de forces contradictoires, prouve que ce n’est pas parce qu’on danse qu’on n’a rien à dire. “The Sticky Fingers” est sorti en ce début d’année, sur le label Moshi Moshi.

2- Big Joanie
Formé en 2013, le trio noir, féministe et punk Big Joanie a forgé sa réputation de concert de quartier en événement militant. Les Londoniennes se définissent comme “des Ronettes passées au filtre DIY et Riot Grrrl”. Elles ont sorti leur premier album, “Sistahs”, en 2018, sur Daydream Library. Le deuxième est prévu pour 2021.

“All of us are big Poly Styrene fans, so we kind of had to have that one on there really.”
3- The Raincoats – Fairy tale in the supermarket
“A band we were lucky enough to play with at their forty years anniversary gig. I just love this song and the kind of camaraderie of that band.”
4- Sleater-Kinner – Oh
“Another huge influence, particularly for Steph guitar playing, Sleater-Kinney. We have chosen their song « Oh! », which is one of my favorite songs by them.”
5- The Supremes – Come see about me
“We had to have a girls group kind of song on the playlist, as the Grrrl sound and era has such a huge influence on the Big Joanie sound. So we’ve chosen The Supremes and « Come See About Me. »”
3- Claire Redor
Chanteuse trop rare, la Nantaise est tout récemment apparue aux côtés de Centredumonde, pour un très bel EP, “The Sweet Kiss”. Elle annonce un album (le premier !) pour le printemps.

4- Countess Malaise
C’est à Reykjavik que Countess Malaise écrit et chante un hip-hop abrupt au propos souvent frontal : contestataire, anti-sexiste et anti-raciste. Elle a produit et sorti un premier album, “Hysteria”, en 2019. Le deuxième “All by myself”, sortira en 2021. Il est déjà précédé de deux singles.

2- Lyzza – Hellraiser XXX

3- Kelis – Caught out there
“She really like expressing the frustration of being a woman in this world and it is something that is so strong and so powerful. You feel the release and you want to release with her.”
“I choose this song because I had to choose a song, but I can listen to all her music.”
“It has a extremely important message, I think she is not only a great musician but she is also just a great model for all people.”
5- Dakh Daughters
Né en 2012 au sein du théâtre Dakh, le groupe Dakh Daughters regroupe sept musiciennes et chanteuses qui tirent inspiration de tout : musique traditionnelle, punk, cabaret, chanson réaliste, poésie de tous âges et de toutes langues … Autrices de spectacles échevelés, elles ont tout récemment sorti leur troisième album studio, “Make Up”, dont elles sont également productrices.

La compositrice, chanteuse et musicienne d’Athènes (Grèce) joue seule depuis 2019, après avoir participé à deux groupes Rosebleed et than.eye. Chacune de ses chansons crée un univers où son sens du lyrisme et de la narration font merveille. Elle a publié quatre singles chez United We Fly.

Autrice, compositrice et chanteuse, Dani propose une pop sentimentale, faite de mélancolie amoureuse et de fin d’été, retrouvant, sous les pavés du kitsch, la plage solitaire de l’émotion. Son premier album, “Veinte” est sorti en 2020 sur le label El Volcan Musica.

8- Eilis Frawley
Percussionniste de formation, elle a joué (en Australie et en Corée du Sud) et joue encore (à Berlin) dans de nombreux groupes. Depuis 2018, elle propose sous son nom une musique crue, heurtée et complexe, sur laquelle elle dit des textes directs – le résultat est souvent bouleversant. Elle a publié deux EP en 2020, sur le label anglais Reckless Yes.

Elasi compose, joue et chante une pop ouverte à tout ce qui peut faire danser : afro beat, house, hip hop… La Milanaise a sorti en 2020 “Campi Elasi”, un premier EP réjouissant et subtil, sur le label Neverending Mina.
1- Sudan Archives – Come meh way

2- Muthoni Drummer Queen – Kenyan message

3- Yaeji – Waking up down
“She has this dreamy, delicate voice, mixed with powerful refined, high quality, deep house production …, super interesting project.”
4- FKA Twigs – Mary Magdalene
“She doesn’t need any presentation in my opinion. […] I think she is an icon.”

10- Kate NV
Kate Shilonosova a plusieurs visages : chanteuse du groupe rock Glintshake, membre de la formation de musique contemporaine Moscow Scratch Orchestra et, quand elle est seule, Kate NV. Sous cet alias, elle compose, produit et chante (parfois) une pop électro inclassable et résolument aventureuse. Elle a publié en 2020 son troisième album sous le nom de Kate NV : “Room for the Moon” est paru sur le label RVNG.

“She is my good friend too. Jessy is the great example of a very gentle and sweet person who can kick your ass with her music !”
4- Deradoorian – Saturnine Night
“I love her. She is just the best. [this track] is a bit krautrock and I like it a lot cause I’m a huge fan of krautrock.”
5- St Vincent. – Pay Your Way In Pain
“She has just released it. It’s awesome. She is gorgeous and she is so different every time. She is a great musician. A very confident woman.”
11- Laetitia Sheriff
La Rennaise est une valeur sûre du rock hexagonal. Depuis 2004, avec autant de fougue que de discernement, elle dompte électricité et torrents d’émotion. Son quatrième album “Stillness” est sorti fin 2020, sur le label Yotanka.
1- Sonic Youth – Little trouble girl
“J’ai sans doute choisi ce titre parce que ça évoquait une période forte. Ça parle aussi d’amour adolescent”
2- Anna Von Hausswolff – The mysterious vanishing electra
“C’est très dense, je vous invite à aller voir le clip, qui a été réalisé par sa sœur, je dirais que des fois ça fait du bien de se laisser guider soit dans une grotte soit sous la terre. Là c’est vraiment le cas”
“Pourquoi Low ? Je pense parce que Mimi Parker est une chanteuse exceptionnelle avec une classe très naturelle […] qui participe à ces moments suspendus qui permettent d’être dans un lâcher”
4- Lisa Germano – Paper doll

12- Lisa Li-Lund
Venue de l’antifolk au début des années 2000, la Franco-Suédoise 🇫🇷🇸🇪 installée à Paris, a multiplié disques et associations (parmi les dernières en date : Bay Bear et The Big Crunch Theory). Une constante : son talent d’autrice-compositrice et la profonde clarté de sa voix. Un nouvel album arrive au printemps : “Glass of Blood”, sur le label Pan European Recording.

4- Brigitte Fontaine – Prohibition
“Brigitte Fontaine, c’est une reine. C’est une inspiration, c’est une personne dont l’existence artistique me fait du bien en tant que femme musicienne. [Ce morceau] m’a beaucoup servi pendant la partie composition visuelle de mon album“
5- Maria Callas & Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala di Milano condotta da Herbert von Karajan – Un bel di vedremo (Madame Butterfly)
“C’est simplement un des plus beaux morceaux de musique du monde. Pour moi, c’est ce à quoi on inspire quand on fait de l’art. Quelle que soit la forme d’art. [..] C’est l’absolue à atteindre avec l’art, c’est la beauté musicale à l’état pur pour moi”
13- Los Bitchos
Les Londoniennes proposent un réjouissant mélange de cumbia, de guitares surf ou orientalisantes comme au temps de Dick Dale ou des Shadows. En une poignée de singles autoproduits, elles ont conquis pas mal de dance floors. Leur premier album est prévu en 2021.

Les Pamplonaises jouent un garage-surf aux arrangements délicats et parfois teintés de mélancolie … Elles ont sorti leur deuxième album, “Dias Raros”, en 2020, sur le label américain Trouble in Mind Records.
1- Queen Latifah – Ladies first
We really love this song. It’s a feminist anthem. […] It has a really strong message to the world about black women. It’s like a really powerful song, and it makes you wanna dance… And also it makes you wanna fight”
2- Elia Y Elizabeth – Soy una nube
“They make these precious pop songs. They were two sisters, and they talk about love and nature, in a kind of naive way but very beautifully composed”
3- Kathy Heideman – Fine street woman
“Nobody knows much about her, nobody really knos where the album comes from, it’s mysterious. But it’s really a nice country folk album, pretty songs with pretty voices, kind of nostalgic, it’s super pretty. It’s from the fifties, but nobody knows really, it makes it special”
4- Aventuras De Kirlian – Victor
“They were a reference for us when we started. […] Victor has a special arrangement that we love. It’s our favorite from the record”
5- Juana Molina – In the lassa
“Really difficult to put it in a category, because it’s like a mix of different influences. […] We love the production”
15- Nadia Rose
Révélée par le succès de sa mixtape “Highly Flammable” en 2017, la Londonienne produit avec détermination un hip-hop drôle, engagé et porté par un flow bondissant qui n’appartient qu’à elle. Elle enchaîne singles et EP. Dernier en date : “First Class” sorti sur son propre label, Qwerky Entertainment.

16- Nalyssa Green
Chanteuse et musicienne d’Athènes (Grèce), aux chansons graves et douces, Nalyssa Green a récemment publié « Taxidi Astriko » (« Voyage astral »), son quatrième et très bel album, chez Inner Ear Records.
1- Molly Drake – Hapiness

3- Miss Trichromi – To kastro

” It’s my all time favorite band. I love it all, I love the attitude, the sound, the way the guitars melt together, how they sing together. It’s like I hear the unity. And the bass player is wonderful”
5- Lena Platonos – I lathos agapi
“Lena Platonos is a genius, a pioneer, one of the greatest music minds of our time, I think. She made electronic music make a lot of steps forward. What she does is really strong, meaningful, heart-felt, crazy, weird”
17- Shishi
Le trio basé à Vilnius “ joue ce qu’il veut comme il veut”, on ne peut que s’en féliciter, puisque cela donne une ribambelle de chansons bondissantes, fantasques et chorales, navigant sans complexe entre garage et post-punk. Leur deuxième album, “Mafitishei”, est sorti en 2020. À quoi s’ajoutent pas moins de 4 singles depuis le début de l’année, avec l’appui du label Monokey.

Tentative produit une coldwave pop qui porte des textes qui savent être sombres sans renoncer à être drôles. Elle a sorti son premier EP, “06h37”, en 2020 sur Kwaidan Records.

4- Jeanne Moreau – Absences répétées
“Plutôt une actrice, mais elle a fait quelques chansons. Dont celle-ci, qu’elle a écrit et interprété pour un film du même nom de Guy Gilles, un très beau film”

19- Tribade
Les Barcelonaises voient dans le rap la musique des réalités. Elles les regardent bien en face, avec un activisme forgé dans les squats et un son ouvert à toutes les influences, du reggaeton au flamenco.Leur premier album, “Las Desheredadas” est sorti en 2019 sur le label catalan Propaganda pel Fet !

20- Yawners
Créé par Elena Nieto et devenu duo, Yawners produit une power pop addictive trempée dans les guitares, les refrains chantés tous en chœur et les années 90. Leur premier album, “Just calm down”, sorti en 2019 sur le label barcelonais La Castanya.
